The Effect of Apium graveolens (Linn) Extract on Reepithelialization of Incision Wounds: In Vivo Study

Background: A wound is a disorder of the continuity epithelial layer skin or mucosa and can result from physical thermal damage. Proliferation remodeling processes are important phases in incision healing. Celery believed to have potential regulate inflammatory phase accelerate process proliferation tissue. This study aims evaluate potency celery extract (Apium graveolens (Linn)) on healing vivo.
 Methods: was an vivo experimental study. total 24 rats were used this divided into 4 treatment groups (2 control 2 groups). Analysis thickness ratio length performed using SPSS univariate bivariate.
 Results: The group had lowest ratio, followed by 50% extract, 75% finally, gentamicin group. newly formed epithelium wounds treated with Apium (Linn) 70% (mean 1.461 mm) similar that 0.1% 1.457 much better than those without (0.869 mm).
 Conclusion: has reepithelialization studies.
